I was raised with a pencil and paper always available and always encouraged to use them, I received different medium kits and learned to experiment with them. I never imagined that I would still be doing it today. From my first hard lesson in grade 9 art, of expanding my abilities and opening my mind to new techniques and mediums to going back to school as an adult and choosing fine arts along with graphic design, I have realized that no matter what happens in my life I keep turning back to my art. In between I have always done some kind of crafting.
Now as an adult with grown children, I wish to pursue my art and portraits as a living. I have had a wide varieties of employment and nothing gives me the satisfaction than sitting at my table or standing at my easel and working out a project. To create what I see in my mind and then to hear what others see in the same piece is amazing to me. It is always a great experience to share my work. Learning to broaden my skills with portraits has been a great time because I finally matched a method that I love with the portraits and improve with each project I complete. I wish to do them along with my paintings as part of my profession.
